Cong Zhou is a cinematographer living and working in Los Angeles, CA. Originally from China, Cong has worked on various types of projects within both American and Chinese cinema. His work spans across multiple industries, including film, television, and music.
While working with Cong, he indicated his need for both a website where he could archive his work and a logo with concurrent branding that he could use throughout his various projects. The website was designed to replicate that of a cinematic viewing experience, through the use of a black background and gallery that implement horizontal navigation, keeping everything on the singular plane of the screen. With his logo and branding, Cong wanted to extend these same elements, while introducing a multi-lingual logotype balancing bold sleekness and traditional handwritten Chinese script. The choice to keep both languages present on the website at all times was a choice made in order to illustrate his refusal to decide between identities as a Chinese American citizen.
