Art Direction, Motion Graphics, and Packaging for the Bath Full Of Ecstasy music video, the title track of the new LP from English synth-pop band, Hot Chip.
Hot Chip is an English synth-pop band from London that is represented by Domino Record Co. Formed in 2000, the group is consists of members: Alexis Taylor, Joe Goddard, Al Doyle, Owen Clarke, and Felix Martin. In correlation with the release of their 2019 LP, A Bath Full Of Ecstasy, the title track of the album was selected as a pre-release single and required a music video.
Working closely with Hot Chip, Safe Crackers, and Somesuch, the music video takes the form of a YouTube video posted by an obscure video game reviewer giving his opinions on “Hot Chip: Bath Full Of Ecstasy” the rare (fictional) video game created by the team. Cutting between images and clips of YouTube user interfaces, video thumbnails, gameplay footage, packaging inspections, classic printed game reviews, lyrical text inserts, life in Japan, and shoppers in Akihabara, the video has a total runtime of four minutes and 28 seconds.
