Art Direction and Packaging for the debut EP from spoken word poet, Maze Nameless.

Maze Nameless is a spoken word poet from the Bay Area of California. Wanderer, the artist’s debut EP, comprises a collection of poems that traverse personal events throughout their life. When played in full, the album becomes a narrative that spans roughly two years as it guides listeners through experiences that illustrate the intimacy and complexity of entering adulthood and how it shapes one’s identity.

The creative direction and packaging of Wanderer took inspiration from the themes that present themselves throughout the album. The central image of converging linear planes represents the album’s core concept of wandering, or searching along one’s life journey. The perspective shifts that one may face through life’s experiences are represented in the design through the optical stimulation of spatial fluctuation. Linear planes appear to rearrange amongst themselves spatially as viewers reposition their own viewpoints of them. Additionally, the ever-present concept of forming identity inspired the album’s banner, or flag-like, geometric visual characteristics, utilizing a global system of symbolism and passion.
