Brand Identity for Bay Area hip-hop artist, J.Inks.

 

An upcoming rapper from the Bay Area of California, J.Inks brings a set of roots gripping a poetic background to the world of hip-hop. His lyrics are unafraid to grant his listeners a lens into his personal life and unapologetically refuse to hold back the truths to his reality, no matter how mundane or extravagant. Accompanied by genre-splicing melodies, his words are those of an artist armed with veracity.

While working closely with J.Inks, he indicated that he was searching for a logo with a minimal, sleek, and compact design that was versatile enough to be used within any other future design project. These design goals were accomplished by creating a custom logotype that uses compacted lettering in order to create an illustrative, yet legible mark. Concurrently, the use of a mono-color design grants the ability to change the logo color as future projects require or see fit. Lastly, the sleek, spiked design represents the often mature and rebellious nature of the client's music, while incorporating soft rounded edges to keep the design subconsciously inviting to viewers upon first impressions.
