Brand Identity for the family-owned and operated Oregon-based event services business, Beyond The Forest.

 

Beyond The Forest is a family-owned and operated event services business based in St. Helens, Oregon. Beginning solely as a photography business, the Starkey family has since expanded Beyond The Forest’s services to also include event planning, catering, and, most recently, floral arrangements. They are proud to help both their small-town community and metropolitan neighbors preserve memories for lifetimes.

Due to their continuous expansion and increase in offered services, at times the Starkey family felt like they were running multiple separate businesses. Our goal was to create a singular brand that would encompass the entirety of Beyond The Forest’s professional capabilities and distinctive values. The largest challenge we faced was accounting for that very same growth rate that seemed no closer to slowing throughout the project. We needed to ensure that this new identity would not only be successful upon initial completion but also be able to scale at pace with the company. The solution resulted in an elegant identity consisting of a flexible mark rooted in the company’s history and the grandeur of special events, organically modern typography that speaks with sophisticated confidence while remaining soft and approachable, and a simple palette of colors and fibers representative of the natural world.
